Summer has finally arrived, and that means something big at The Lake House – wedding season! Although we host many amazing weddings throughout all the seasons, summer will always prevail as the busiest and most popular time of year for weddings. You might be wondering why The Lake House would be a great wedding venue, so we would like to give you some more insight into what makes the intimate and rustic space a special and personalized location to celebrate your big day!
Weddings are a huge part of what we do and what makes The Lake House the unique venue it is. Our Events team is very experienced, not to mention incredibly passionate about wedding planning and execution. “Our passion for event and wedding planning really shines through in what we can offer couples, beyond just being a function space for your reception,” says Kirsten Davies, our in-house Wedding & Event Planner.
One of the biggest challenges for a couple is finding a venue that can facilitate a smooth transition between the ceremony and reception, seeing as these two events often cannot be done in the same venue. It is rare to find a restaurant wedding venue that can offer both, and as such, this is something we are thrilled to be able to offer our couples. Due to the versatility of our space and the experience of our event staff, we are able to customize the room to suit both your ceremony and reception while keeping the transition between the two seamless and enjoyable for you and your guests. Additionally, The Lake House is one of the only local wedding venues on a waterfront. Our convenient location gives you and your guests the feeling of having escaped the bustling city environment while still being close to many amenities, making it convenient for those coming from near and far.
Something that we are incredibly proud of as a wedding venue is the culinary experience we have to offer couples and their guests. We have an outstanding culinary team that is very experienced in crafting beautiful dishes for large events. “CRMR has a reputation around the world for the tasteful and locally-inspired food and beverage programs we have to offer on our properties, and this is definitely something that you will see reflected in wedding menus at The Lake House,” says Kirsten.

“When it comes to wedding fare, our offerings tend to stay fairly consistent throughout the year – we usually offer a combination of the true staples on our menu, such as the Alberta Beef Tenderloin, while still offering unique and local fresh cuisine true to CRMR.” With that said, our culinary team is very flexible when working with couples to ensure that the menu for the reception is tailored to their needs and wants. Additionally, we have a dedicated pastry team who are very experienced in crafting beautiful and unique wedding cakes in-house. This is something that we are proud to offer as not many wedding venues are able to provide couples with
When asked what she enjoys the most about being a wedding planner for The Lake House, Kirsten replied that she loves being about to help couples plan one of the most important days of their lives. “I am very proud of this venue and this company, not to mention everything that we have to offer to couples and visitors, and this pride in my workplace really adds to my enjoyment of working in this field.”
We are completely booked for summer 2017, but looking into 2018 we have quite a few spots – but they are going quick!
