Warming Winter Desserts

Winter is officially here, and with it is the urge to indulge in sweet treats and decadent desserts. The new Dessert Menu at The Lake House has launched and featured on there is everything your sweet tooth craves over the winter season.

Pumpkin Crème Brûlée, a twist on the golden classic. Pumpkin will bake and sweeten in the oven, and with the right spices can be combined with ingredients to create delicious desserts. Our festive take on Crème Brûlée is a delightfully light adaptation, with a golden sugarcoated top and cinnamon sugar palmier. We can’t tell you how we prepare ours (that would be giving away all the secrets) but it’s safe to say this is a dessert you won’t want to miss on a cold winters day.

Another favorite, is the Dark Chocolate Passion Fruit Gateau. Everything about this dessert screams INDULGE! Combining multiple seasons into one plate, our gateau will satisfy your taste buds with a rich chocolate warmth combined with a snappy ginger kick from a candied tuile. We’ve used ginger as a key ingredient, knowing it is proven to warm you by accelerating the blood flow in your body. Served with a passion fruit crémeux and raspberry compote these lighter flavors break up the dish meaning you’ll always be able to finish it. Enjoy this dessert with a glass of wine in front of the fireplace and you’ll be dreaming of it for seasons to come.

A third favorite and back by popular demand, is the Sticky Toffee Pudding. We serve this traditional toffee sponge pudding with brown sugar bourbon apples, vanilla bean ice cream and butterscotch sauce. Using a dash of barrel-aged distilled whiskey to stew the apples, this dish has soul warming properties balanced with cooling vanilla flavors from the ice cream. This dessert is guaranteed to warm the soul.

Our chefs pride in themselves by using seasonal ingredients, and our chefs have tailored it to ensure you feel fully satisfied after each dish for the winter season.
