CRMR - 4 Chefs Dinner - Calgary

We are reigniting our chefs competitive sides with a third edition of the CRMR Four Chefs’ Dinner!

Join Chef Gareth Colville of The Lake House, Chef Lancelot Monteiro of Cilantro, Chef Sonam Pontsang of Divino, and Chef Thomas Neukom of The Loft for the third CRMR Four Chefs’ Dinner.

Sharing a kitchen for the evening, a little sibling rivalry will push each CRMR Chef to craft a unique dish and pair it with one of four wines. The wines for the evening are from J. Christopher Winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and from Dr. Loosen located in Germany’s Mosel River.

Joining the four chefs for the evening is Jay Christopher Somers, the current winemaker at J. Christopher Winery. Jay has continued to develop his Burgundian winemaking style in Oregon and had an opportunity to work alongside Dr. Loosen’s winemaker, Ernst Loosen in Germany in 2004. There, the two winemakers discovered their mutual love for Pinot Noir and began making a collaborative Oregon Pinot Noir. We look forward to welcoming Jay to The Lake House and his vast knowledge of both wineries.

There are only 60 tickets available to this incredible evening of food and wine. Tickets can be purchased online.

Tickets: $120 per person (incl. tax and gratuity).

J. Christopher & Dr. Loosen

From Jay’s first sip of Burgundy, there was no turning back. Old World wines are what he has always loved to drink. And since starting J. Christopher Wines in 1996, that’s the style of wine he has worked to make here in the New World. We follow biodynamic principles, and all of our wines are handcrafted in small lots, with fruit sourced from some of the best vineyards in Oregon. Our specialties are Pinot Noir made in the traditional style of Burgundy, and Sauvignon Blanc modeled after the great wines of Sancerre.

In 2010, we cemented our bond with the Old World by forming a partnership with famed German winemaker Ernst Loosen. Erni and Jay have a longtime friendship based partly on the fact that they are both Pinot freaks. Working together to produce Pinot Noirs that combined Old World and New World ideas just seemed like a natural. Together, they purchased a beautiful 40-acre property on Chehalem Mountain in Newberg, Oregon. This is the home of the new J. Christopher winery, and the Appassionata vineyard, our first estate vineyard.
